Andy Smith has wide experience and collaboration in mechanistic toxicology and fundamental research with research interests that include genetics of haem and iron homeostasis/toxicity, the toxicity of pollutants such as dioxins and PCBs and gene expression in toxicity models. He has been a member of the government’s Committee of Toxicity as well as other committees and consultations and Chairman of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Toxicology Group and President of the Environment, Sustainability and Energy Division.
